We talk about men being a part of their children’s lives and we want them to teach our boys to be men & our girls how a man should treat them. In this do we consider the foundation & character of these men we are asking to do these things?

Just because they are of the male gender & helped produce a child it doesn’t mean they can teach our children these things. Why? Because for most of them no one ever taught or showed them, so in essence we’re expecting the unattainable. NO this doesn’t make them a bad person. We can’t hold them accountable for what they don’t know.

All any of us do as parents is the best we can with the knowledge we have. Just think twice about the expectations you’re putting on a person and what their core is before you ask them to step into shoes they are already at a disadvantage of filling.

As the old saying goes, “be careful what you ask for”.
