It’s very important to be your whole self before you say I do. You see, that real self in you is going to eventually hit the surface and if your mate is caught off guard too much they may fall out of love with you and remain in love with the lie of yourself that you sold them. Being friends with people first and tapping into the blessed gift of discernment that God freely gives to His children is a great way to help prevent being hood-winked, but let’s be real; there are a lot of people who should have been actors because of their skills. To you I say, If you’ve got a hot temper let it be known and explain if possible where it came from. Most people understand that everyone has flaws and they more than likely will be willing to still deal with you if you are working on your issues. True love does not keep track of wrongs either. (I didn’t make that up)
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love suffered long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
To the ladies, don’t play up your interest in sports. If you don’t like football, you don’t like football. Is it kind and caring to pretend with a guy who desires his wife be into it because that’s important to him and then after you say I do you slowly but surly stop watching and then scream that he watches it too much? That’s mean! It wouldn’t be cool for a dude to lie to you and say he’s employed and has his own place, then after you fall madly in love with him he says, “SIKE, I hate working so I live at home with my Mommy!” Another thing I hate to see is when females act super down and dude-like in hopes to win a love/friendship with a man. Men do desire a woman that is able to chill, be down to earth and have fun with them, but he desires for you to be a lady more. Be lady-like I say. So who are you really? Are you comfortable enough within yourself to be who you are while changing for the better? Are you able to show your true colors and not hide behind things, behaviors and characteristics? If not then maybe you should work on that before you decide to become one with another. Give your future mate the benefit of marrying the real you!
Have you ever felt the need to hide your true self in life?
